I was on vacation and my friend who is the owner of house of fins in Miami was talking about different products and equipment. One item that came up was Test kits. I was talking to him about salifert which he used for along time.. But he switched to the new red sea. He said that the reading on more accurate with the red sea test kits. Just wondering if any of you guys or gals have ever used it, and if so what are ur thought about it.

Hey guys not trying to hijack this thread but I was wondering if you have any experience with probes/ monitors that measure the tanks alk calc mag ph or nitrates? I use salifert as well but always see these pricey monitors that continualy monitor these pars. I currently use a/ b method

Red Sea kits are pretty good and easy to use. I'm partial to the Elos kits because of the certification and care they take with storage before shipping out and I know people who have tested them against probes/meters and the numbers were dead on. When you factor in price then the Red Sea kits become more attractive, especially if they can consistently be that close with the other brands.

What I want to know is, how do we know that the new red sea foundations kits are "good"? just because it comes up with a result, how do we know it's accurate to the tank? Ok, understand it comes up as the same results as salifert or whatever, but that makes it the same... But better? easy to test understandable, and I like the new mag kit that comes with that holder to make sure you do drop by drop, but, how can we tell it's spot on?

I am thinking about buying also when I run out out of salifert. Salifert has been around and has been compared to lab results and came close or accurate. If these red sea test kits could produce results close to proven test kits such as salifert or elos then it may be worth my try
