Carbon

Put in some new carbon after the water change and now the corals are not opening up and no way to measure my Alk but PH is a bit low at 8.1 unless it's a false reading.Do I leave it alone or dose to get the DKH up?

what carbon do you use? i cant see how carbon effect on ALK

Only thing I can attribute this to is that you haven't run carbon (or changed it) in a while. The water was yellowing (maybe not apparent to you) and the carbon cleaned it up really well. The reduced yellowing allowing more light to pass through the water and the coral are 'adjusting' to the increased light.

The Clam doesn't mind the light but even one SPS coral frag and it closed too.Even my anemone moved lol.I'm using Kent,Ran out of ESV.

Agree with Russ.. just keep your eye on corals, maybe reduce photo period , if you have MH shut them off and use suppl light.
