do copperband butterflies perfer mussels or clams

if i was going to give a copperband a treat what food would you suggest.. other then blackworms... do you think a fresh mussel or clam?

only way to really tell what ur fish prefers is ask him lol just kidding, buy a fresh clam and mussel from pathmark, one of each and see. freeze remainder,

They will stay alive in the fridge on a bed of ice..just keep them out of fresh water.

Before I began using blackworms during the process, I would use local clams during acclimation all the time. I'd keep it on the half-shell, mince the meat a little bit with a razor blade and place it in a high flow area of the QT so the contents would move slightly in the current. Once I'd get the fish eating, I'd gradually wean to PE Mysis, etc. but every once in awhile, I'd treat it with a 'gooseneck' just for old time sake.

My CBB loves blackworms and hikari mysis, but really doesn't pay much attention to clams.
