nobody in the trap this morning . Tonight I'm going to try with a smaller bottle trap. The bait floated to the top of the bottle with the larger bottle, so it's possible it couldn't smell the bait.

Don't mean to hijack but I here clicking noises in NY tank a lot. Could this be from my pistol shrimp or do I have the same problem as you? Good luck.

Jab if you have a pistol shrimp chances are you don't have a mantis.generally the mantis would kill the pistol pretty fast

no luck today . my clownfish keeps trying to go in, but she's too fat. Don't know what else to do aside from FW dip all of my rocks.

If there are no corals in the tank you could remove the fish and drop the salinity in the main tank until you see the little bugger come out in a panic. If it's just him in there you could drop it quickly. Or you could let it sit there for a few months until the next election is closer and then send in a team of SEALs to extract it...

There are a few corals left in the tank (not very exciting- some button polyps and hex palys, a few shrooms and a piece of cabbage coral), but they survived so I'd like to try and keep them. Guess I'm waiting for the SEALS.

I vote hit the tank with hypo salinity quickly and wait him out because we don't negotiate with terrorists. The polyps should be ok afterwards.

I finally caught him!:lol_large On Saturday I came home, looked in the tank, and there he was just hanging out on the rocks. I saw what rock he went into and was able to lure him out with some squid. As I was getting him into a little container, something startled him and he went back into the rock .

I started taking it all out piece by piece to dip, but no luck there. I actually ended up finally catching him when I took all of the rocks out and was able to pluck him off the sand bed with forceps. Now he is living (not so happily) in a container, waiting to be picked up by a friend. I have pics on my phone that I will upload later.
