GFO difference ?

Hi guys/gals,

I'd like to know if there is a true difference between GFO's. For instance the ones BRS sells; granules vs pellets vs high capacity, phosban, rowaphos. I know there is a price difference, but is one really better then the other?

Which would you recommend? Please don't ask me what is the phosphate # in my tank. I can't find my checker to test. Put it away, and now I can't remember where I put it.LOL

Happy reading! I ran BRS HC GFO when I did, but haven't since Biopellets. Next month I'm going to try PO4x4.

Thanks Widdy, I have been giving bio pellets a lot of thought as well. But I do worry about all the bad reports.
Will read up some more.

From my experience with PO4 media:
1 - BRS High Capacity (this media gets heavy and requires a strong pump to make media tumble in the reactor)
2 - Rowaphos
3 - Phosban. BRS pellets if to be used in a filter sock. BRS granular if to be used in reactor. (all other ferric oxide medias fall in the same category)

Thanks guys! I've only used Phosban & BRS granular in the past, and currently using BRS granular. Ran out, so time to purchase more, and just wondering if the extra $$ for the high capacity was really necessary. :sigh:

I've only used the BRS, Phosban and the the stuff Vinny sells at the LIRA meetings(probably BRS, but I never asked) and I don't see a difference in them except the price....I try to get Vinny's stuff whenever I can....
