Never had the guts to dose vodka. Also, did you try a Salifert Phos test? Any chance your hanna is off?

Ive never tested my pre-rodi water for phos, but we live in the same area. I never had an issue and i only take basic anti-algae measures.

Yes tested with a salifert kit many times and always get zero. Today I decided to test my tap water and wow! 1.71ppm so my ro/di is taking this down quite a bit.

Does anyone know which filters of an ro/di remove the most phosphates? I'm guessing its the DI or membrane. I would have to think a little more filtration might help.

I was told it was the carbon filter. The rep on the phone said if it's 10 micron. Try a 5 micron. Haven't done it yet. If you try lmk if it helps.

Just installed a pressure gauge. My psi is about 82 going into my ro membrane. maybe too much pressure!?

A clogged membrain will drop the pressure in your unit.

Because the membrane is after a properly placed pressure gague, a clogged membrane doesn't affect gague pressure.

For kicks you can add another RODI stage. I have 3 pre-filters (Sed and 2 carbon blocks).

Unless you have chloramines, "kicks" is about all the benefit you'll get ut of a second carbon stage.

RO removes a high percentage, and DI removes almost all the rest.

Not at all. 82 psi is great. The membrane can handle 300+, and works better at higher pressures.

TDS is 0, yes my existing single stage of DI is getting removing all the tds
