I feed once a day. I fed my breeding pair more often, but that is to produce a large clutch, so it should not be taken into consideration.

I find that most fish "hunt" for food during the day...wrasse hunt all the time, clowns eat pods/flatworms/etc, tangs graze......fish do get some "food" from the tank....that should be kept in mind.

Although I have at times fed up to 3-4 times per day when I had fish that needed that much.

I have also had Lyertail Anthias that I fed 1 time per day or less and looked very full and happy always.

The advice in posts above is good, although I think you need to monitor your tank for a while and adjust feeding to fit your needs....to much food will create problems for your tank (whether it be phosphates, nitrates, etc), and to little will cause problems for your livestock (whether it be sickness, death, starvation, susceptible to sickness, etc).

If you list your livestock that would help.

Your tank is way overstocked and some of that isn't even reef safe. 8 of those fish get way too big for a 72 and you shouldn't keep angels with rays but that barely scratches the surface of what's wrong with that stock list. Whatever store sold you all of that isn't doing you any favors and I would seriously reconsider shopping there.

woahhh buddy, a single yellow tang is even kind of pushing it in a 72 bow and you have 5 different tangs? 3 clowns? 4 damsels? if you do anything, please take that ray back to where you purchased it (...or better yet, a store that actually knows what it's doing).

its not about the reef..... sting rays are sensitive creatures...the angels or even ur nemos could attack it at any giveing time and kill it...plus they need 6 feet plus to swim and glide threw..u also have too much rock to have him in there might get stuck in between the rocks and die.......

If you have inverts in the tank it's a "reef" whether you like it or not. I would suggest doing a lot more research before you go any further with this, but before you do anything you need to return that ray or find someone who can properly care for it.
