I set up my reactor a week or two ago.it's a dual chamber reactor (precision marine)..I glue a cup in my sump just above water level for the coming out the the effluent valve to the tank...the problem is that the water is reading a PH 7.7 or 7.8 ...

the effluent is dripping 40 drop per minute..

PS I have a Milwaukee PH controller set at 6.8 so that means the it have the CO2 shut off...

Help ..I read that the ph should be about 6.7..coming out the reactor..

PH of 6.7 is idel but not a must.

How many bubble of CO2 a minuet are you using? You need to increase the bubble rate to get more CO2 into your reactor, causing the PH to drop to the desire level. make a small adjustment and wait a day or two before making futher adjustments.

Measure your Alk level of your tank one day after you made the adjustment, don't worry about the PH of the effluent if your Alk is where you want it to be.

I uses shuran DIY reactor [made by wefr, works great] & Milwaukee ph controller. Since shuran media requires lower ph. (6.2 - 6.5) to get calcium and alk. My bubble rate is higher, 80 bubble per minute and the ph comes out to be ~6.3ph, it's ideal for Shuran Media, not sure for other media. As for the effluent rate, i have it as around ~50ml per minute.

I set my milwakee ph controller to 8.1, and if the ph goes above 8.1 in the tank, the co2 bottle release co2 into the calcium reactor, this will drives down the ph of the tank, and as it gets to ~8.0 ph in the tank, my GEN-X Regulator cuts off co2. So my co2 is only on during photo period and it's off at night. Keeps the tank ph between 8.0 - 8.2 Good luck, hope it helps.

Melt, if you set the milwakee ph controller to 6.8, then your co2 is releasing co2 into the tank day & night, and if that's the case, won't your ph in the tank be really low?
