Could someone please confirm this for me. Everything is dry fitted. But want to make sure it looks good before I glue.

Thanks guys. I was hopeing this would work. I definatly replace the clear hose. If i can find it, both LFS's were out of it. I can always change later.
Should I get a union on the overflow pipe?

Hose freaks me out, I'd use PVC all the way. also having the skimmer in the drain compartment is a bad idea ime. It will be full of bubbles and splashes etc. better to have the skimmer in the next compartment where the water level is steady. The only way you can keep a skimmer in the drain compartment, again ime, is if it is gravity fed

Also a union ball valve is always a good idea vs a regular ball valve plus it's good to have it closer to the pump. Should anyone close it while the pump is on it will build pressure and possibly pop off the hose!

Not a huge problem because it is a 'no pressure fitting', but your overflow bulkhead is installed backwards. The flanged side should be on the inside of your tank with the 'nut' on the outside.

I was actually in the process of making the same post. Yes it is a glassholes kit. I thought the same thing, but went with the directions.
Glassholes already responded and a new bulkhead is on the way.

Be careful putting the bulkhead that way. When you tighten the nut it has a tendency to twist or shift the rubber gasket. That's one reason it works better with the threads outside the tank. Also make sure valve handle is not going to hit the glass in the position you have it

Also those valves tend to be hard to open and close ime I would go with a true union valve much beter

the nut on the bulkhead is inside the overflow box, and not directly on a gasket the gasket goes inbetween the overflow box and tank, and another gasket outside the glass.
