Mine started a fire in my apartment while i was at work and my girlfriend was sleeping. Now how scary is that? i didnt think it was the heater just thought it was something else maybe the power strip but after reading all these horror stories about this heater im 100% sure that was the reason

I too have one of the original Stealth heaters and have had no issues with it yet but I'm upgrading soon and am going to replace it to be on the safe side.

I HAD the original one and thats the one that caused the fire.

to unperdictable, that why I made my own water heater unit. Runs off my boiler with a SS coil and some basic controls

I had two of these things that crapped out on me. Never again will i touch one of them. Thank good I happened to be there both times.

I've owned 5 stealth heaters of various wattage and none of them went bad on me. Still using one now that's about 2 - 3 years old. And these are the original model. I believe its the newer ones causing the problems

Mine didn't pop but brought the temp up to 98 out of now where wiped out the whole tank thank god it was only the 15 nano.

The Stealth Heaters were recalled due to a Consumer Product Safety issue. You bet your arse they are going to reimburse you for some cheap fish and coral. When you file a claim to replace your burned down house, now that's gonna be an expense!!!
