Welcome! Take it slow, be patient, and do your homework! Read, read, read.... And then read some more. Checkout NewyorkSteelo on YouTube ... He has a lot of educational vids on reefing. Good luck don't get discouraged, its a bumpy road.

Welcome to the MR family!!
Do as much research as you can possibly stomach.;) Make your first purchase an RO/DI. Get the largest tank you can fit, and afford. Take into consideration what equipment you would like to have on your system (try for the best, and not the cheapest), and then check prices (used & new). Add all of that up, and if you still want to continue you just may have one of the best looking reefs around.;)

Not a cheap hobby by all means, but ohhhhh soooooo rewarding!!!!!!

Hi Fred. Welcome. Nice to see someone who wants to get some info before diving in. Your freshwater experience should serve you well. I think you should get an idea of what you have room and budget for and start there. Start big. Again, you probably know this already, but larger volumes of water are paradoxically easier to keep stable than small ones. Take your time and go slowly, but give yourself room to expand. As specific questions develop, ask them.

A refreshing intro, as opposed to what we see much more frequently (my pet peeve): the "I just bought a setup at the store, mixed water, put my fish in, and everything is dying! Why?" post.

not sure she has been crying a bit when she goes to get up. she is drinking a lot of water which is normal when they don't feel good. i thought maybe she hurt her leg outside but now I'm wondering if she ate something that may be hurting her stomach. she ate this morning though so i will see when i get home

Taking your thread of topic. Sorry

How old is Harley, could it be arthritis? The white & brindle is Yava she is approaching 8 now, and she has a bit of arthritis. We are treating her with "Arthogen Plus".
