Curing Frag Plugs????????

Dear Fellow fraggers,

Does any one cure their ceramic plugs before you use them? I heard people place them into the toilet tanks for curing.

After they are cured, should you leave them in your sump ?

Maybe we should just cure them in the sump and leave them in the sump until you need them? Is this a good idea?

Interesting question...I wouldn't say it would be necessary to cure a dry ceramic plug because its pretty much the same thing as putting dry rock into an established system, eventually it would cure in your DT

i have my plugs sitting in my sump.

It is not necessary unless you are planning on adding hundreds of plugs at once.

Josh, it's not a bad idea to leave them in sump though. It can start a nice culture, like live rock.

it's not a bad idea per say... but if there are things that you don't want to grow on any rock in your DT... then keep it out of there.
