i'm dosing randy 2part now. Just started about 1 1/2 months ago, though. Before wasn't doing any dosing. Was doing biweekly waterchange before.

Skimmer? I don't think skimming have any effect on growth, does it? Just added a skimmer to the tank around 1 1/2month ago, too. Skimming wet, I would say.

Yea, the only thing I see is that all the SPS have crazy crazy polpys extension.

Not everything grows at the same rate. I've got some sps that have like toxic growth and others that I'd have to measure growth in micrometers/year. Your colors look good and your PE is crazy. Things actually look good there.

lets hope its not one of those that you have to measure in micrometers/year.

Looking at a tank full of 1" stick is not so attractive now :D I want growth, baby, heheh...

I am hoping to setup a CA reactor in next month or so.. Maybe that will help stablize the tank cal and alk parameters.

since u just started the 2 part give it a couple of months and u will see a diff.. also y do u need the ca reactor if ur dosing the 2 part....

with the skimmer theres something u can do with it and use it to ur advantage.......

well a CA reactor will deliver constant ca/alk to tank and I think that is more stable than dosing every moring and night..

I know a skimmer is very important, but need to get a better one.

also something ive been reading up on is magnesium and the importance on it in our reef tanks.... from what ive read most salts run low on mag. but we should dose that for the health of our corals....

been dosing b-ionic mag since dosing the randy two parts. Trying slowly to bump it up to around 1350-1400.

Since IO and Tropic marin salt is pretty low on them. Tested a newly mixed batch of IO salt and the mag was 1170, 9.6dkh and 340 cal.

test for po4 yet? how much disorganic do you have? is your water yellowish? how often you get algae over the tank? coraline heath?

haven't tested po4 for a while. disorganic meaning shits on the starboard? not alot, just a little here and there.

The whole starboard is covered with coraline algae and rocks, etc..

I'm going to dose a few drop of iodine and strontium and see how it will work out for a week.

I get a green film of algae on glass every 3-4 days.

i spoke to calfo at NERAC and asked him about tropic marin. He spoke very highly of tropic marin as he said it is one of the best salts. I asked him about the low mg levels and he said that as long as you're doing water changes, its not like the corals drink mg theres enough mg in the salts. I asked if i should be adding mag flakes and mag pellets to supplement the low mg he said no and its perfectly fine.
