What kind of sand are you using in your tank?

I'm going to be starting a 120g.
After all of the issues concerning the differences between a shallow and a deep sand bed (check out chemistry forum), I think I'll stick with 3 inches or so.

I dont think the website shows how much sqft is in a 40lb bag.

I'm sure Russ knows though.

Here's a great sandbed calculator just enter your tank length, width and depth of sand. It'll tell you how much sand you need to cover that space.

Angelo, please be aware that DSB= Deep Sand Bed. A 2" sand bed is not considered a Deep Sand Bed. If you want to do a DSB it would be 6" deep. 2" is considered a SSB, Shallow Sand Bed. Just semantics, that's all.

how do you like that sand? i've heard good things on other forums about it. i ordered a 20lb bag of the same stuff for my 32g tank upgrade.

my current ADA has fiji pink; not sure the exact type.

i'm used to and LOVE the carib sea arag alive special grade. I'm ordering 120lbs of it (dry not alive since I can seed my tank with something else). But I would be interested in changing my mind for the fiji pink in a similar grain size if it structurally looks similar.
