OK- so I am planning on taking apart my tank :anger2: in order to get the mantis that is terrorizing my tank...how do my plans sound?
I am planning on having two 5 gallon buckets - one for the rock, one for the water. Rock goes in one, corals in another. This shouldn't take long b/c my tank is pretty small...
I grab the rock (or course it has to be the large one...), bring it to the bathtub - and pour club soda down the holes. Supposedly this is supposed to irritate the shrimp and he will shoot out of his lair.. muahahahahahaha :skull: :skull: :skull: .
Then quickly refill the rock into the tank, put corals back into place, turn everything back on...and hope for the best!
My real question is - the large rock has many polyps on it - will the soda water harm them? I expect a little dieoff, but I'd hate to see an entire zoo colony die, etc..
