Coral Vue Reef Octopus XP1000SSS Aquarium Protein Skimmer

Thinking of getting this skimmer , any input would be greatly appreciated

I ran it on my 75g w/ 75g sump and had it on my 60g w/ 75g sump and it is a beast!

I was probably way overstocked, but this thing would pull some of that thick nasty! I swear every time I emptied it I gagged!

Straightjiggy came by when he bought my radion from me and said he ran it and loved it too!

Depending on your bioload and tank size I would highly recommend it, mine I ran in 8.5 inches of water wide open and ugh it was NASTY! My only problem with it was I had to clean it so often :/ because it was so dirty.

One thing to be aware of is the screws on the pump can start to rust, I e-mailed coral vue and they sent me a brand new pump when all I asked for were some new screws.

i a running that skimmer right now that the best skimmer i have ever run nice and quiet skimz like a beast the only thingis u need to run it in low water level between 8-10 inches and another plus is the bubble blaster pump come with a 3 years warranty cant go wrong imo

Yeah i currently have an I- tech 200 and its a monster too but it has to be in 7 inches of water and its sprawled out over 10 inches so its a big footprint and i would really like to use up a smaller amount of room in my sump

Do you guys thinks that all reef octopus skimmers are better skimmers then bubble magus ones? its a general question.

Thanks Eddie...to be honest im starting to hate mines now I might just switch over to a reef octopus one when I have the chance to.
