new large tank (poss shark tank)

Thinking of getting a new tank (180-225g) and possibly going with a Black Banded Cat Shark as the main focus... has anyone kept one? What other sharks have people kept?

What other fish could be kept with it? I don't want a huge tank with just a shark it in. I want to be able to house some of the bigger tags, groupers, etc.

imo a 225 is not big enough to keep a shark plus other fish i would scrap the shark and throw a few tangs in this my op

yeah the more i research, i'm starting to lean against the shark as well... are there any smaller shark species that are not as aggressive? maybe a nurse shark?

Nurse sharks get to 14'.

wow ok... so that idea is out! liveaquaria lists 180g as minimum size for the sand shark but also says it could grow to 3 feet which doesn't make sense.

i think i'm still going to go around 180g and make it a FOWLR as many of the fish i'm looking to get are listed as reef compatiable with caution

The catsharks are benthic and nocturnal so even at 3' they don't move much and a 180 is usually considered the minimum tank size.
