thanks i have looked in to florida rock but a guy at a lfs told me that florida rock can come with some kind of atlantic bacteria . i dont think he is saying this so i buy rock from him.he does not even stock much at his store .i like the look of figi rock and its small holes and shapes. any other places that sell good figi rock ? thanks pete

Check out FishTown on Northern Blvd in Queens. They sell Fuji for $3.99lb. It's base rock with a little growth on it but they do have a bunch of different shape and sizes.

if you want lots of life stay away from fish town, TBS is the best place to go for lots of life

TBS florida, what do you mean alantic, from what i remember, nitrosoma and other microfunia all exist on the rocks, as long as it filtrates your water i dont think you would complain, TBS has so much life on it you can bearly see the bottom, that can be a good or bad factor because sometimes they come with annoying stuff.

TBS rock come with mantis shrimp, gorilla crabs and alot of other bad things. You need to be very careful with their rock. If your just starting a tank TBS is probably not what you want to use as it has alot of corals, sponges and algae growth that will probably die off in a newly setup tank. Get the base rock first and cycle your tank and then look at TBS rock to finish off your system.

I know I have said this before - I swear by Dr Fosters and Smith live rock. I bought another 45 to help fill my new 180 and swear by this stuff. I have never had any problems with thier rock and it has colored up nicely over the past 3 weeks.
