okay guys, I just got a new higher paying job, and am looking to splurge. to get maximum sps grow, what do you guys think:

deltec apf600 or the tunze 6100 package?

If im looking to spend somewhere around 700 t0 800, is the deltec apf600 the best skimmmer i can possibly get? I am energy comsumption conscious also.

also anyone selling one or something comparable?

I say get the skimmer and shop around for used tunzes. They are so well made that even used they last a long time. That way you will have the best of both worlds.

thanks jim, both sounds like a great idea. i do have a height restriction and a foot print restriction roughly exactly what the deltec will offer. currently i am using two seios 620 and a pan world ps 150 with flares. my sps are placed strategically in the best flow areas, and my lps and clams are in the gentle flow areas. as for the skimmer i am using an aqua c urchin pro with a mag 7. this yields about a cup of nasty dark but watery skimmate a day. to compensate for my lack of a high end skimmer i clean the neck of the collection cup everyday. i find if i dont, my skimmate levels die off disproportionately. (as in if i clean one day, and get 1.5 cups my next day if i dont clean will only yield 2 cups instead of 3 cups if i did clean the neck.) strange as that sounds i do see a big difference when cleaning the neck of the skimmer.

Jim which skimmers did u have in mind?
