As many of you know, there was a recent thread (that I somehow missed) openly bashing me. That helps explain all the snide little comments I've been getting in my posts.
For all of you who want to scream and pout, regardless of the facts, this would be a good time to stop reading.
If there are any MR members who care about the truth, here it is.
1) Just in case our friendly moderators haven't told everyone yet, I am Satan. Yes, I am the vendor scumbag who "screwed" all those poor LIRA assholes.
2) Yes, I buy from the same supplier who has been supplying LIRA their group buys.
3) I did have a conversation with said supplier - let's call him Alex for simplicity sake. I pointed out to him that in business (while relatively new to this business, I have been in other businesses the past 20 years), it is problematic to sell wholesale and retail customers essentially the same products, at essentially the same prices. It tends to piss off your wholesale customers who would, reasonably, feel that their supplier was bypassing them and selling directly to their potential customers. ARE YOU WITH ME SO FAR.......I told Alex that I understood that LIRA had been a customer long before me, and probably did more business with him than I do, but I did feel it was a problem. I also told him that maybe group buys was where he felt his best growth potential was, but he ultimately would have to pick one area or the other or risk having the whole thing blow up in his face. I even suggested he might try selling certain fish retail, others wholesale. Finally, I said he could just have 2 different pricing structures, identified as such, retail and wholesale. He informed me that his largest customer, a wholesaler who supplies pet stores in this same general area, had already told him the same thing. He had decided to stop doing group buys (not just LIRA, but all group buys) to focus on his wholesale business.
4) If LIRA members, or MR members don't want to buy another fish from me, that's fine. This is America, do what you want. I would however appreciate less off topic comments on my sales posts.
5) Do I care about myself, of course I do. This is a business, one I spent thousands of dollars, and hundreds of hours building. Do I care about my fellow MR members? Absolutely. That is why I offer the absolute best livestock, at absolutely unbeatable prices. I'm not here to defend my profit margins. Anyone who knows anything about business knows that the prices here on MR(way less than I sell elsewhere, BTW) are priced as low as possible. If you don't believe me, ask anyone who has bought from me.
