Pencil wrasse

I just bought one of these from tropical island last week. he was out and swimming yesterday night when i put him in. my melanaurus chased him around a little bit but didn't really bother him, i have had him with a mystery wrasse before and he bullied him for a couple days and then left him alone and were perfectly fine.. i haven't see him all day today (which is normal i know) my concern was is this too sensitive of a fish to take on a little bullying. btw he was eating at the store and looked really healthy.

as soon as i posted this i turned around and he was out swimming lol. he is still getting bullied a little bit but no contact just chasing him around.

Had the same fishes, had the same problem. Melanuarus would chase pencil around so much, but stop
After a week or two. They don't care any more. I had them
In 150 gallon tank though, so size of the tank will also be a factor.

They love to sleep in sand

lots of people say that have very hard times trying to keep the male alive especially. They are so damn pretty, I can't blame anyone for trying and you have a gorgeous male. If you can, put the melanurus in your fuge for a little while to better your chances.

I could watch that fish all day lol I love it. I turned off my main lights earlier then usual to calm them.down and my melanaurus eased up a lot on him. he's usually a docile fish so I think he will leave him alone. deff my new favorite fish
