Is it possible to get a 220gal reef ready rimless tank? I am starting to fall in love with the rimless look. And can you get away with a custom mesh for the jumpers?

Rimless with the larger tanks will always be difficult and some manufacturers won't even do it. Just remember that when you go rimless you're compromising some of the support at the top and that needs to be made up with thicker glass (significantly more weight) giving the seams more surface area. It would also be much more expensive than a standard tank of the same size. Just some things to consider.

That makes sense

I will consider a tank with a top then.

Thank you

You won't get a standard 220 size made rimless without eurobracing. And once you get eurobracing it looks a little meh. You will find a 220 thats 36 deep though thats rimless. The length of the front pane of glass on the standard 220 needs to be very overbuilt for it to work, bumping the glass to 3/4".

meh = ehh/whatever/pshhh same lines..

But... whatever the case may be.. Glass rimless would be insanely heavy and extremely thick in order to support the weight and pressure. Acrylic would probably be the better bet, however I would not attempt either without any bracing. JMO.

Thanks skene. That's why I'm asking now and doing research before making my final decision

Yeah that's really the way to go about it. Maybe make a few calls to custom tank builders and see what they say. Take everything with a grain of salt in the way they recommend building the tank as there are a few ways to just make it look clean enough with bracing.
But in the end you will want what you want with the amount of space that you have available. So see what people are willing to do and how you can get it accomplished.
I'm sure I would love a chance to custom build something like that... ;)
