Cat fell is freshly made saltwater

Well the right side of its body fell in a freshly made bucket of saltwater. Can I still use this water?

I wouldn't for multiple reason, the main one being it's paws, kitty litter and and you know the rest of this one.

But that's the way I think and I'm a little nutty sometimes lol.

Cats are some of the cleanest animals around. Litter? Germs? Litter you would see in the bucket and seeing as it's a inert ingredient what is the worry? The clay residue in Red Sea mix is probably more. JMO but I see no logical reason why it couldn't be used.

I think we all get a little fanatical at times. The bacteria would break down the minuscule amount of oils rather quickly. I would try to get any hairs out though just so they re not in the tank. But even they would break down rather quickly.

I would say the water would be fine but definitely get rid of that cat it will be ruined!

I would be worried about flea and tick medications like frontline if you use it more than anything else.

Dump it and make a new batch. Is it really worth the risk? I found a fly in my brute pail. I dumped the entire pail and made more. Id really hate to have a meltdown over something as stupid as that. Just my opinion.

No you should not keep it, get rid of the cat immediately!
Oh sorry you were asking about the water right. I wouldnt worry, fish do nasty things in their water already. Your cat's paws shouldnt make much difference.

I would dump it. I'd be worried about the parasite Toxoplasma.
