a highlight of the night!!!
funny shark story....lmao
will let Skat(katchy) tell hahaha
Thanks for getting the pics up so fast Steve!
Well the story goes like this...
Many of you might recall that TJ did a great job flying this Shark around Pratt the last time we were there, so she brought it back again for this swap and got him all set up.
Being an intelligent lady, she SAFELY tied the shark to the 'Raffle Tickets' sign and removed the weight (how you are supposed to store these guys...)..
We were almost all done with set up, just wrapping up a few loose ends and one of the guys who I would NEVER call out by name ...***coughJamescough***... decided to take the Shark for a test - fly around the room...
As it turns out - without the weight on there..the shark doesn't quite react the way he should...and up to the ceiling he flew..and stayed..the controls did nothing...he was stuck at the PEAK of that very high ceiling...eek! :fish:
After a few minutes we were all just staring at the ceiling ..brainstorming - and we came up with...
Plan A:
Run quick to the store and buy a helium balloon, cover it with duct tape and let it go up, stick to the shark and pull him back down.
I has some ribbon to use as 'string', we found some duct tape and also used some double sided Scotch tape....
So we stuck the whole contraption together...
...and it fell straight to the floor..,..It weighed too much to fly with all of the tape on it!
...we needed a new plan...Brett & I worked to remove some of the tape, but it still wouldn't rise...every time we let it go, it fell on the floor..wrong direction!!!!!!
Time to remove ALL of that duct tape!
TJ waited patiently while we reworked the balloon to try and save her pet shark
TJ then took over the tape rearrangement and James & I took the balled up duct tape and tied a string around that hoping to toss the ball and try and snag the shark by it's tail..but that cieling is on the high side...a few others including Todd (Cherry Corals) tried to throw it up there but that wasn't working...so James and I set out for the balcony hoping to get closer and try from up there!
TJ - down on the floor - finally got enough tape off the balloon and tied another ribbon on it - and UP IT WENT - and she snagged the Shark on the first try!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
...we all held our breath and one inch at a time..she brought the shark back down!
The room erupted in CHEERS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yay!!
Up went the big ladder and we grabbed him and safely tied him back onto the Raffle sign...
Safely back to our level...we WILL put the weight back on him tomprrow before we let him fly around again!!!!
