Hey all, just finished my build. 120 gal dt with 75 gal sump/ refug in basement. some questions,what is the salt of choice for most? Also what are most using in the fuge( plant/rock/sand)? I was thinking of using Tampa bay for rock,sand and cuc. Any use them? Any thoughts, suggestions, or info is greatly appreciated! Thanks. P.s. this is my first tank, I am a newbie!

Hi you can do a micro algae plant or a algae scrubber, I'm new the hobby haven't setup yet research to see what you like. And here other members might have other suggestion or advice good luck

For my tank im using RO/DI water, Reef Crystals by IO and in my sump/refugim I have plant/rock/sand.

use the most porous rock you can find. The reason for that is more hiding space for your fishes, critters, pods, and i think great for filteration (holding more beneficial bateria i believe). I use pukani rock, but they need to be cure for some time. GOOD LUCK!!!
Most people either utilize Macroalgea like Chaetomorpha or go with Mangroves. Deep sand bed and rock for pods to grow.
This is depending on your other methods such as doing vodka dosing, etc which eliminate the need for "plants" to export the excess nutrients and rely more on a higher end skimmer.
