Thursday I'm taking the family to see Cirque` on Randalls Island. I've never been there before.

1- where is the tram located?

2- where should I park? Safety (personal and auto) and price taken into consideration please.

3- I was going to take the family to Carmine's for dinner. I believe that's a bit of a distance away from the tram, not sure though. Can anyone recommend a simliar quality and style restaurant to go to that's more geographically desireable?

Thanks for the guidance,
Russ

Harlem River drive south to FDR south and Triboro bridge exit. Get off at the exit and follow the signs onto randals island, I would not take mass transportation but drive because of the distance from GCT.

If you are going to train it, Take MTA to GCT then the 6 train uptown to 59 street and lex ave. Walk east 2 blocks and get on the tram (the one that recently got stuck for 18 hours) to randals island. then you are gonna have to wing it from there cause ICAHN Staduim is on the northern part of the island.

I'll be driving from the GW bridge. So I guess the Harlem River Drive to the FDR is the way to go. I wasn't even aware that I could drive to the venue. :duh: I always thought it was just the tram. :banghead:

So what would you recommend for dinner reservations?

BTW, thanks for the quick reply. That was great. Doesn't sound tough at all.

Russ dinner reservations are gonna be tough, there are thousands of great spots in the upper east side alone!!

Not too sure but unless you eat at the show I don't think there's anything there.

The ferry is the way to go, very nice, very easy.

Also, as one who grew up on Roosevelt Island, let me clarify - it is NOT the same thing as Randall's Island, and neither the tram nor subway will get you to Randall's Island. Roosevelt Island is a strange and scary place, with uniform, utilitarian architecture that looks like it was inspired by the soviet union. And if you accidentally go there you may never escape.

I like the Irish places on vanderbilt ave just outside of GCT. Patrick COnways is my favorite.
