Wow Jim - I am really sorry to hear that. Sometimes you just need to take a step back and laugh. That's what I did a couple days and a couple more beers after our tank cracked and exploded onto the floor. I hope you were able to save everything with minimal stress.

probably cause the floor was unlevel - who knows, the tank was only 2/3 full, I also leaned on it last eve while changing the filter socks, I may have cracked it myself - who knows,

Now, it is running as quiet as a wisper - some benefits of spending the money.

Tank is back to normal salinity and all inhabitants look happy. PIcs to follow

I totaly missed that disaster, sorry.
looking back it's funny how Michael predicted the exact outcome. At least you can laugh about it now, no? well maybe a few years from now.

I had a 160gal tank, that was made by Mark's Aquarium in Brooklyn, and the owner told me that if the center brace came off the tank would mostly break apart. I never forget that, specially with such large tanks.

Yeah I can laugh about it now. I was really (#*^%(*&@^$ pissed off when it happened though. I seriously think I wouldn't have been able to handle it if Jon didn't come over to help me. I was hyperventilating when I was talking on the phone with Eric who was in Florida.
