I'm in the process of doing the same thing...
I was told to get a cup full of old sand and use the new sand or wash old sand very well.
Sprinkle old sand to seed new sand. Keep as much water and it'll be like one big water change...Just make sure you have all your live rock in the tank first...
Best advice is to be prepared and to put all livestock (corals & fish) in a big rubbermaid with a heater, powerhead and airstone until the new tank is in place.
That sandbed looks so new. I don't even know if you need to rinse it out. Good luck with the transfer. It is a pita and definitely takes much longer than expected.
Also be sure to have plenty of epoxy and glue to secure the corals back into place. It is also a good idea to plan your new aquascape with the rock. I recommend you read the following articles on how to make a "natural looking" aquascape following the 5-3 (golden) rule:
i have the tank, but life has gotten in the way again: thanfully fam is good this time, work is extremely busy with alot going on...end of january if all goes well.
When you are done check your phosphate. You have a lot of green on your LR from your 75 gal. Maybe your skimmer was turn off. Cleaning sand and adding fresh batch salt water that should help with lowering it. You don't have to but I would add some kind bacteria. It will help stabilize and jump start bacteria on Clean sand. Good luck ....Blue throat will be happy in his new tank...I' m thinking of doing same upgrading to 125 or 150.
