whats everyones take on the clown tang ....good idea or bad idea in a reef tank

Clown Tangs are on the aggressive side but for corals and clams not a problem

Aggressive, large, should be reef safe. A beautiful fish. Just be aware that it can easily grow to 15". I can almost say for sure it will be a bully. This is definitely an 'add last fish'.

ohh man so if i need to add other fish i should do so since i added the clown tang today

Clown tangs are hard to keep and usually don't have a good surival rate. They tend to be very aggressive and stress out very easy.

I ve had two clown tangs one lasted more than a year found him on the carpet one morning
last one I had was hardy, ate well, good demeanor, stopped eating one day, got real skinny within a week and died I had him 8 months.
great looking fish but IMHO tough fish to keep

Have had mine for two years. Beautiful fish and very tough. Must be the last fish added in your tank. Needs a lot of room 125gal or better.

Edited for the right diet (sorry haven't slept in a few days). Vegie foods, Seaweed and Nori as well as spirulina and other vegi diets. Just an FYI before you by something is the time to research it's temperment and diet as well as growth and final size.

Chief he's talking about a clown tang not a clown trigger. But I still agree with what you said.

They are very hard to keep alive.
