I noticed when I returned from my trip an aptasia on one of the rocks I transferred from a friends tanks. Thinking it was the only one I bought some of that solution you squirt at it. Then I looked closer and there is another piece with lots of little ones on there. Is there any way to try to target or treat these two pieces before it spreads all over? The problem is that the two pieces are covered in coral. I have read many threads and posts on this but don't know really what the best approach here is. Thanks.

44santanababy is giving one free. But it's not reefs safe

Yeh I talked to him already after seeing dubs but he said only good for a fowler.

As for the peppermint shrimp I know which subspecies is best but what about location where they are from. I heard some won't eat them.

It sucks I can't just re-cook the two pieces of rock they are on since there is so much coral.

if u see little ones there is more that u didnt see if i was u i would get this under control asap these are by far the worse pest ever and the take over fast

Yeh I thought there was only one till I looked closer. There are only two rocks I moved over that weren't cycled in the tanks since they had coral I wanted on them. I don't want it to spread anymore if possible. Maybe I should just nuke them but it may be too late I dont know.

When I first got in to the hobby and purchased a full set up, there were no clean spots on the rock, it was covered with aiptasia. Tried a Copperband (didnt work), tried peppermint (didnt work), cheap medium power laser only bleached them. What worked for me was Aiptasia X by RedSea (reef safe) this is a must have in your arsenal when dealing with pest like this. You could find it at your local Petco.

The ones more likely to eat aptasia are Caribbean Peppermints. The Indonesian peppermints usually won't eat aptasia, but are more likely to pic at corals. I got 2 for my 140g. They made short work of all the aptasia. Its been months and months since I have seen any aptasia. I gave one away, and kept one to leave on aptasia patrol just in case any pop up. If you decide this route, be careful not to get camelback shrimp. They are sometimes sold as peppermints. They can/will eat corals.
P.S.- I got mine at Country Critters in Patchogue, LI. Apparently, they only get the Carribean peppermints. Picked up 2 for $16. They were only 3/4" when I got them. The one I have is now over an inch.

They like to hide during the day at first especially if you have wrasses. Since my mystery wrasse got taken down by my clam they are constantly cleaning rocks and are out all day. I have never seen them eat a single aptasia all I know is that they used to pop up in my tank occasionally and now I haven't seen one since there arrival. I don't think starving the tank is necessary just be patient they will disappear

Also I was told by Ivan to buy 1 peppermint for every 10 gallons of water in your tank. I have about half that but these guys are picking and cleaning stuff all day so I wish I had more. The second I put a new rock or new frag in my tank all my peppermints go right to it and start picking things of of it.
