Busted! Have to get rid of my tanks :(

Feels like deja vu, it happened to a " friend" of mines last month in "his" kitchen.... When the superintendent came "he" immediately directed him to the bathroom and told him that the bathroom sink had clogged and overflowed the night before..... He inspected the drain and floor to make sure that water was not still running and left.... Since then "he" does all his water collecting in "his" tub no matter what.....

Got to home depot 2 minutes before closing, returned some tubing and timers, and tried to get a moving dolly but they were all sold out. Thankfully I told security here what happened and they hooked a brother up. Even they said just hide it till things calm down.

Well, I think you answered your own question. Is having a tank worth the the possible conisquences? It's a hobby that you can get back into at anytime, do you want to risk living or work situations for a hobby? I wouldn't.

lol sounds like me. where i live my landlord pays for our water usage so if he was to know i had a tank he would flip. its not like i have a 100g tank either its only 30g and i do 5g water change and fill my reservoir for ato with another 5g. so i bought one of those divider things and it covers the area where tank is and i shut the lights off when he has to come into apartment lol.

I feel like im already being extorted. Whats killing me now is I am making some extra water before I shut everything down and Im doing it the right way (in the tub) why oh why didnt I do that before. Also they just sent out an email with pictures of the crime scene to everyone

your best bet would be to buy or make a cabinet like the ones in the hotel that hide the TV. They look like tV or armoir cabinet with the doors that open and slide in! My friend made the cabinet DIY and went to Ikea for the skin and the doors. He also bought the end cap book shelves and cabinet doors. It was really cool and looked like a wall unit. Best part was that the missus could put nick knacks, pottery, books and etc in and around it. Meanwhile the tank and the additional stuff (sump, reactors, buckest, gear, test kits and stuff all had a place! Doors closed happy home! Doors open and sit back on the couch and watch the magic. (the tank was at a perfect height for view from the couch) The tv by the way was above the unit mounted on the wall!
Safety note:
Ikea stuff will not carry weight! You have to DIY a frame for the tank! and buy the skin to match the rest of the cabinets/bookshelves!
Best part is that the landlord does not know and the missus gets some new furniture! Talk about killing two birds with one stone!

If they have 'documented' the event, I would think they are serious about it, and will have follow up inspections...not worth risking home and job
