Has anyone called there customer service and asked them about a part that is broke just to see what they say? Nah just go out and spend your money who cares right...Before jumping on these pumps and wasting the money you earned why not find these things out? Dont understand people sometimes. It can be modded and used with a APEX....SO. Its has pulsing and wavemaking......SO. It breaks in 6 months WAHHHHHHH i spent my money and these pumps suck. I just wasted 160 dollars. I bought this chiller from ACME chillers and it fried my tank. You guys will be sorry without doing more research before jumping in on something not known

This IS doing the research. Documenting findings, posting reviews, ripping apart the internals and taking pics of it to show how they are made and built... this is all very useful info in making this decision, and is being done by many people.

Its a BENEFIT that the reefing community has found these to be moddable into reef controllers, and only increases their value even more. I'm probably the only one who has one on an Apex right now, and I documented it into a how-to. Making assumptions doesn't help anyone.

I'm not an electrician, but I've found nothing wrong with the wiring of the insides of these. It runs off a simple circuit, and the wires are well shielded.

With these, you operate under the assumption there wont be a warranty, but you can contact the company via email if you need parts. Ripping these apart voided any warranty I would have gotten anyway, but I could still run through 4 of these if I desired compared to getting an MP40 again.

If you're doing an unbiased, bona fide testing and review of this pump WITHOUT extolling its supposed virtues after only a few weeks I'd have no issue. But that's not the case. You're coming out with an across the board endorsement after only a few weeks. PLEASE, continue with your research. Give it 6-8 months of an honest workout and then, only then can your review be considered something worth noting.

Should others spend the $100 to test it out? Absolutely!! But how can anyone spread the gospel about a product when it's only on the market for a few weeks? GIVE IT TIME. Run it through its paces and then when all is said and done report back to the reefing world with your unbiased, time tested review. I can certainly respect that. I just can't respect an across the board endorsement three weeks after this pump is introduced.

I don't understand why you guys would bash something you haven't tried out yet, duke, maybe these pumps are ok, maybe not, but to bash it without trying one first is ridiculous, in this hobby it would be great to find less expensive alternatives for some things. 110 bucks is well worth it if the pump does what the specs say it can do, you probably spent more than that chasing flatworms in your tank, I'm getting a couple of them to try out, we shall see how they do

+1 Thats the one thing that i dont like about reviews. People are way to fast to jump the gun. Then a newbie sees it buys the product then it fails. If you were a engineer and you ran your tests like they do with other products putting it to the test in numerous aspects then came back and said this pump is built like a tank and is just as well built as say vortech or tunze without bias then thats a home run. If more people came on here and said ive been running JEBOA for many years with no problems i would say WOW a great product. Not my cup of tea because of how its made but hey if i see one used ill try it out but there is no reviews on here yet of there company and products and no true engineer has come through and said truly worth the 100 bucks so be very cautious

WOW you really are something else. Dont send me another message crying that i took you off my friends list. As for the flatworm stuff it is a known company that has been around for many years with thousands of people using there products in the States and europe.So not the same thing dude. You just want to find new ways to piss me off for some unknown reason. When you have a real objective to the things i write instead of just going opposite of my views to get a rise then i will think your serious.

I do take issue with a Vendor on MR voicing concerns or criticism of
The product. Especially when that vendor is a known dealer for this products direct competition. Seems a little unfair and biased no?

Bob, show me one post where I criticized the product. How about stating the facts as they are. I questioned the validity of an across the board endorsement of a new product three weeks after it was released. Is it that difficult to see the issue?

I'm with duke!!!! I have suffered many times from knockoff products only to endup buying the more expensive one that I went around !!!

I remember buying a knock off koralia that developed rust on the prop stem very quickly , I took it back and the owner of royal aqua world told me in broken English to contact company on back of box!! The number was a weird out of country number that I'm sure had someone from Another planet answer the phone and it would be in a time zone that requires me to be up at 345am to call that planet and pleade my case !!

Im interested in the test results and glad someone is checking them out.

I gave up years ago on the only buy American products bad wagon after working for Harley Davidson for 6 years.
Although it might sound riotous and all American but guess what all the electrical,front ends,shocks and a lot more of the American icon is made in CHINA

The pump is being critiqued because it is a company that is not know for having great products. People want a pump like vortech or tunze but for half the cost and this pump comes along with a iffy company at best. You want to shell out 100 bucks for it go right ahead. You want to spend another 60 for the upgrade go ahead but i am giving a opinion that your wasting your money before hand to know the consequences of buying cheap products. You are telling me non of you guys saw a product and know right away that its not even worth the 19.95 the infomercial is selling it for because it looks so crappy but on TV it looks awesome? When your looking for a appliance would you buy a known named brand that gives you what you expect or some no named brand that no one owns because its 200 bucks cheaper. Know what your buying before buying. I am not bashing it i am giving a point of view

My point is a 110 bucks for a pump that potentially could be a decent pump is worth the risk, who cares where it's made, if it does not pan out to be any good it really does not matter, I'll throw it out. We waste money on all sorts of stuff on this hobby, what's a 100 bucks more? When I said you spent more that that chasing your aefw infestation, I wasn't referring to the brand, I was just saying we waste $ all the time on products, and you wasted your money on all sorts of stuff to beat flatworms and still lost all your acros. Point is if we don't try new products, we would not advance to new things.
