so i was readin a post over the weekend about somebody leavin their ro water runnin , and i think to myself that would never happen to me i would never forget , well guess what i did it last night , and the apartment downstairs is f'd up now , fml

happens to me all the time. get a timer that rings LOUD.. i set it up for 90 minutes for 5gal

I learned from when my dad had his RODI filling in the kitchen and him constantly flooding it. I have mine under the bathroom sink and the jugs fill in the bathtub. It it overfills it just goes down the drain.

and i made it even worse , when my gf called n told me that it was the sump i turned off the pump from my phone , i do not have a check valve :-(

My rodi had faucet adpt on bathroom sink unit and bucket in tub .. Easy to remove no floods

if your ro unit has an auto shut off valve, put a float valve in reservoir. i have one but still try and keep an eye on it. usually doesn't make it to float valve.

+1 on the float valve. It's easy to install on most resevoirs (mine's a 5 gallon bucket), and will stop this problem.

I've flooded the bathroom( that I set up as a fish room lol) several times! Good thing it's over a crawlspace. I just bought a 32 gal brute pail and a float valve. Now I just scoop water out of the brute and fill a bucket

Not all of us !! My rodi system is in the guest bathroom bathtub at all times !!!! You know why ? Cause that would be me every week!!!lol

srsly last week late at night an d far from sober I went down to shut my RO off and luck I did because the 30g Brute was full.

woke up in the morning to find out I had actually turned the RO on.. not off.

I've flooded my house so many times. Had to replace sheet rock each time. Last time was the worst. Left it on overnight after a few drinks and completely trashed the first floor. Expensive lesson. Now I just fill 5 gallon buckets at a time in the washing room sink. That way if I forget goes downt he drain.

Gotham Aquatics has a water alarm for $10. I keep one on the floor in my cabinet just in case. Very loud.

I only flood the garage. I added a auto shut off and a overflow drain. So when i forget , it just goes into the overflow to the outside. Tired of forgetting to turn it off or not hearing the timer.

I have one. It has been worth more than its value. If sine one does not have a dedicated fish room than its useful. Also if there is any other leak for any other reason, even if it is not from your rodi it will still make loud annoying alarm and shut off rodi. I purchased extension modules from a different website for cheap. I monitor inside my tank stand, under kitchen sink, ant ato reservoir area

Oh and always periodically check your float valves! After a while they can fail. Don't ask me how I know. Lol

It happens to everyone sooner or later, it happened to me but came home just in time to clean up approximately 2 gallons of water. Your best choice would be this from bulkreefsupply, or the alarm from Gotham Aquatics. They also sell alarms at home depo for like $14. But remember that an alarm is useless if no one is home.
