From my personal experience when they shrink down that small and hide in the rocks or behind rock work they are about to split or already split. I wouldn't stress about it, just make sure your chemistry is on point. I dk if you already posted this but what lighting is it under.

I just installed about 8 days ago 2-Gemis 120R units from Lumini which is controlled by there smart controller water is good, phosphates a little high, nothing crazy

Well that all makes sense since you just recently changed the lights. Just make sure your alk calcium and magnesium are in acceptable ranges and let nature run its course. I would suggest raising your lights up but I would need to know the optics on the LEDs, what lighting full switched from and their current height above the water.

My original set up was a Maristar w/ 2 250 watt MH bulbs and 4 T5's, ran real hot kept my water at 81 degrees

The new LED system is two (2) Gemis 120R which are 33 3 watt Bridelux bulbs I believe 90* lens, water is 77.5*. I have them about 8" off the top of the water
If this helps--

each unit specs are

LEDs
9x Cool White LEDs run at 3W each
9x Blue LEDs run at 3W each
9x Warm White LEDs run at 3W each
1x Red LEDs run at 3W each
2x UV LEDs run at 3W each
1x Green LEDs run at 3W each
2x Royal Blue LEDs run at 3W each
Wave length: 440-450nm & 450nm-460nm& 5000-10000K & 630nm &

Hmmm since you had pretty intense lighting prior to the switch I would say that intensity isn't the problem so much but rather the spectrum change and spread of light. Since they are 90 degree optics I would say the height of the lights are good at around 8 inches.
How are other corals reacting to the switch?

How much did you pay per fixture if you don't mind me asking?

Corals are doing just fine, better then ever. As far a the the lighting goes you wouldn't believe it but here it goes. I'm a nut for research before buying with almost everything. I found these lights while surfing the net, manufacture in China, of course. The web site was very vague so I tracked down the USA wholeseller Saltwater Aquatics whose web site was a little better and listed the price for my set up (2-units, smart controller and hang kits) for $889 Wholesale not selling to the public plus shipping but they do not answer the phone so no support or info there. From there I called one of Saltwater Aquatics retailers, I think he was a store in Chicago who was very helpful as far as the fixture goes said he liked it but that it was a brand new product for them. He put the light on par with Radion, whatever that means. Then he quoted me $1150 for the set up....free shipping LOL. At that point I emailed the the manufacture in China, went back and forth with a guy Daniel Zhang (it was torture, he must have been using Google Translate) and at the end of the day whole set up delv from China in 6 days $605 total and your safe, they take PayPal
