does anyone know what food regals and coperband eat. mine don't look like there eat brime or mysis shrimp

Dr Foster and Smith said
"They may pick on invertebrates, especially anemones and feather dusters. They are an excellent fish when used to control aiptasia, or glass anemones, in the reef aquarium. "

Mine picks on small aiptasia, and christmas rock (small feather dusters) It does not pick on the larger anemones including aiptasia.

regals like to eat zoos. mine cleared my tank out. which i wanted him to do.
yes i remember on your regal thread i stated if they did eat coral i would not want one in my tank. but i could not resist. too beautiful. well it's not like i have any coral in there right now anyway. i remember some saying that they pick at acans and blasto also. i will leave mine in the frag tank and introduce them slowly and monitor the progress.

BTW, didn't you have a tank crash with the chemi-clean thing? Are these fish in the same tank? It makes me worry
my tank had a good amount of fish in there and not one died. i think it was because i caught the problem quickly and did the necessary stuff to keep them from dying. my water parimeters are great now. the tank is doing very well. i would not put any fish in there that i thought were at risk of dying.

dave- i'm guessing these are new additons. you didn't check if they were eating before buying them?

regals are very hard to get to eat prepared foods. if he does then you have a much better chance. chopped clams are good but they also like sponges. a zoa diet can become quite pricy if you ask me.

as for the CBB, they will eat feather dusters and maybe aptasia but i don't know anyone who can continuously feed these things. try getting it to eat mysis @ least.

When I got my CBBF he would eat nothing but aptista (which was why I got him) but after that he would'nt eat for a day or 2. I tried a wide range of foods from squid, clams mysis but to no avail. Then I tried feeding him live foods (at this point he was hungry) :bablefishand had success with live black worms and eventually he ate eats mysis and brine after a week or 2. What I'm trying to say is not to get to worried attempt feeding him daily until he get hungry. He'll get hungry and he'll eat, i can't stop mine from eating at this point.

David,

The CBB has been eating mysis soaked in garlic extreme. Keep working on that.

The other regal I got in with yours(pending CB747), did not take to mysis, but it is eating krill. Try some if you have it. Garlic also.

Michael
