This is my newest fishy and I'm inlove with itttt, lfs I purchased from said it was a simple reef safe fish.
Now that I'm doing research I'm finding alot about them being very difficult. Anyone have one that they have been successful with??? I'd like some helpful tips pleaseeeeeee and thank youuuu

I have a sunburst for over 2 years now they aren't hard to keep as long as you have a lotta rock and hidding spots .they don't really swim around much actually nkw that I think about it I don't think he has ever been to the other side of the tank ...oh and you caan only keep one in ur tank I think the will kill each other

It looks stressed out right now. In my experience it will hide and you should let it. It will come out when its ready or when you feed the tank.

I'm one of the lucky ones to actually keep a pair for over a year now...as mentioned small meaty frozen foods. They tend to stay close to the rockwork unless they are very secure. Its very difficult to wean them on to pellets or flakes..Also as mentioned they may fight if more than one is kept unless they are a pair which is also very difficult to distinguish male from female even when side by side. There are slight differenaces in mine besides size..one has longer flowing fins as well as a more flat sloped forehead which I believe is the male...GL

I currently have a pair right now. Not sure if luck has anything to do with it. They definitely hide a lot. I been feeding frozen plankton right now. Trying to get them to eat pellets but haven't been successful yet. One of my favorite fishes. Love the coloration.

thanks everyone for the advise  the lfs called it a borbonisssss something like that... saying itll eat anything i give it that its peaceful and should do good in any style tank. and yeah it was deff stressed i took that photo as soon as i put it in my tank after chasing it around with my fingers for a bit for a photo opp ( i know i know baaaaddd me ) if i would have known it was such a delicate little flower i would have left it alone lol buttttt anyway i dont regret it that will probably be the first and last pic i ever get of him... i built him a little pretty cave made out of colorful yuma covered rocks andd havent seen him since :frown: sucks to know they dont like light at all considerably since i added him to my 60g frag tank 1/2 bare bottom 1/2 crushed coral with some rock like i stated... made him a little fishy hotel. ughhhhhh im so nervous, i dont wanna lose him(her, it)

Got my from MR too. Almost 3 years I have him. As long you have rock work lighting won't be a issue. My is in all SpS tank. Fat heads known as sunburst are shy. But will become brave as he gets to know your tank. My male lyre tail chases him at times. But he holds his own. Main thing as long he's eating he'll find his place in your tank. I never had trouble with this fish.
