thinking of getting the red sea max s-line

I saw the 175 gallon red sea max s-line 650 or 600 I think its the name it comes with everything and its such a beautiful tank im thinking of selling my setup and up grading to this bad boy what are your input about the setup im really in luv

It's a nice tank coral theory has one as their show tank. Has every thing but in including a ato.

The s650 is a nice all in one, but 800W of T5 bulbs (10x80w) do get hot so a chiller is practically a must. The skimmer works great once it gets broken in. The in-tank width is 21.5" so while you have a 5' length it is a little restrictive with respect to depth. Some people have done mods to the sump but I left it as is. The only change I'm going to make is to switch out the sponges for filter socks. The return and the four powerheads are pretty strong but you might have to consider adding another powerhead. The return runs the skimmer and I have it running a phosban reactor and I still get a pretty strong stream going back into the tank. I don't regret the choice, even though I'm switching out the T5s for LEDs.

Bear in mind that it is 175g total volume - 150g display and 25g sump.

If your going to mod it don't get it ... I like the tank but don't like t5's and the sump to start cutting and messing with it I rather a custom set up IMO

I saw this set up in a book I think it was before it came out and it was the same white one with white leather couches next to it ... I fell in love too but after looking at the spec and everything I wasn't impress they could of done it a lot better .... Better Filtration better lights like LEDs and the even the whole layout at the ends what this cost I should of been more into the times ... It's 2013 !! Lol ... But I'm not going to lie it dose look nice

Wins, did you see display tank at Max Reef. Ralph didn't fill it up yet. I don't know which series or model it is. But it's one awesome tank. Glass quality is done perfect. Like stated expensive and you would most likely make some changes or add things to this wonderful system. Red Sea puts out a good product. But if your going to spend that kind of money. I would put together and custom my own and see how much that would cost.

You can put together your own 180 with better equipment for 1/2 the price. $5,000+ is nutty for a tank w T5s that will need a chiller and a few add ons anyway.

I just about completely modded my old RSM 130D over time, and junked most of the original equipment like the skimmer, lights, etc. I would have been better off with a bare tank and buying separates... which I did the second time around with my 125.

in reality there is not much to mod in the tank it will do well with the standard equipment, the extra equipment you would have to purchase anyways like a dosing pump and reactors. the only downside is the fuge can not really be used as a fuge a little small for macro. and who pays full retail for anything

everything is going well, tank is up and running since feb. its lightly stocked at this point, but will start to fill up soon enough

I really like this line. I saw the 110 gal one and its a high quality tank. Lighting is great, auto top off, skimmer, all included...only thing needed is a chiller which has its spot set in cabinet....the way light is set up too is great, with the folding back feature. Flow is also a positive. If you want a plug and play, thats the way to go.

If you add all the tank features new, and high quality stuff on that size, you will end up spending even more. The thing with that tank is it looks like an italian couch in your living room( especially the white one, wow). The thing is classy man. It all flows together and you dont have to do anything, just sit back grab a cold beer and just stare at it.
I say it about this one because my wife hates tanks and all the work it entails. I am thinking about upgrading to a 57gal and she wants to torture me into changing my mind. I dragged her butt with me to the LFS to grab something the other day, she saw that 175 red sea tank and said:"wow i would let you get that one if you want it". And she stood there for a long time staring at it...LoL
