I currently have a JDJ lighting hood containing two 65 watt blue actinic compacts and tw0 65 watt white compacts. I am strongly considering buying a new lighting system, one incorporating MH as well as either compacts or T5's. Iwas told by my LFE that the T5 MH system is the way to go he also recomended that I go with 275 watts on the MH's. Does this seem right?

On my 90 I have 2 250w MH and 2 65w pc actinics and everything is doing well in my tank. I have been running this lighting scheme for several years now and would recommend it. Or hold out for the PFO Solaris lighting system for only $2350. It will last 16 years and cost about the same in bulb replacements over the years. The savings comes in 40% less electricity need for the same output and would not require fans as it does not put out a lot of heat.
