Jebao DC-6000, 9000, 12000

So I went to set mine up and realized that there is no filter/strainer for the intake. I asked Jebao about this and they said they don't send unless requested. So I guess they have them but for some reason don't include them.

I'm just going to cut some mesh screen for mine and stick it over it. Nice and cheap. I'm hoping to have it installed tonight. I got delayed because I can't get the old pump out. lol

If they do send the strainer though, I'll take one.

Don't make the mesh screen too tight or too loose because when too tight, it clogs right quickly, when too loose risk of screen being suck inside if the screen is soft.

First impressions:

Holy crap. This thing has serious power, and yes it is completely silent. I have to keep it on 2 out 6 intensity, or it is too much for the sump/overflow. I'm using maybe 10 watts to pump my tank, and this is the lowest model (Unless the 3000 comes out). That's insane.

2nd gen DC pumps are the real deal.

I wonder if they just took their fountain pumps and decided reef tanks should shoot out water too. Between the WP40s and the DC-6000, my SPS are probably loving the cyclone going on, but my fish are like "seriously?".

Found this test over at the Reef Angel forum. It really does shut off when running dry! lol. I'm gonna try mine later at full blast to see it it auto shuts off too.
