I think the window may be your best bet. Maybe you could make something to insert when the window is open like they use for portable AC or like a window fan.. If it's like those flip out ones it might be trickier but not as permanent as taking the pain out..

You could also take the pain out without breaking it if you do it carefully and put on acrylic like you said..or just use a piece of wood..

Mold feeds on moisture so unless you can control the moisture it will continue to grow. Cleaning it is just a bandaid. Dehumidifier, air condition , fan and try a moisture meter and see what is the level if its higher the 20% to 30% humidity you will continue to get mold. If you have it on the surface of paint it can get behind things where u can't see it and it can become a health hazard so take it seriously

Don't place a fan on the mold! Mold spores spread through the air and placing a fan on the affected area will cause more harm than good. Definitely try to vent the air going out of the basement and use a dehumidifier. There is a product called " Mold X" sold in home depot. Use that to clean the mold and then paint over it with Kilz paint. If you get the humidity down in the room, the mold shouldn't come back

Guys, thanks so much for all these feedbacks. The mold i have is in two room, one room was clean up 1/2 years ago, clean with clorox wipe and painted the trim, don'ts see anything so far, more of concern is behind the wall, and i am not ready to knock them down yet. We actually had a french drain done, which we though could cause flooding in the basement, i guess it did solve that problem, i think now it's the moisture issues here and with the tank, humidity goes thru the roof. Been running humidifier, man, was that an electricity sucker. Thinking of installing a bath exhaust fan and see if that will solve the problem, if not at least cut down on the humidity level.

I am having the Same problem with mold growing in basement. Luckily my basement is unfinished so it is easier to clean.
I got a 70 pint dehumidifier from pc Richard for 299 and you get a $40 rebate from lipa.

It has worked wonders the few days I have had it running so far. Humidity was about 73% and is now 45%. The air feels fresh again.

I found a mold company that will be coming to clean up the mold the right way. I have a newborn at home so I rather do it that way.
