they are all opportunistic predators, but the scarlets are less likely to eat your snails - blue leg will eat thier mothers and no clue about the whites - hawaiin zebra's are kewl too, but pricey - same with scarlets.
Ive heard that the White Dwarfs live longer than the scarlets thats why I asked, never really heard much about them either until I searched around...Is one better for hair algae, cyano etc.. than others or are they all the same in that aspect ...(just curious)...
My personal experiences tell me that blue ones are evil even if you have extra shells for them. Red ones seems Ok as long as you get extra shells of various sizes for them. Sometimes the gardening section of HD has the shells.

i like zebras i have 4 and about six blues and i never had any problems.sometimes my zebras will bully my blues.the thing is i never see them doing nothing but sitting in holes in the rocks.
