Been debating on which hermits to add to my clean up crew...

Red Legged/Scarlet
Blue Legged
White Dwarf

What is the real difference between the three? Looking for a great algae eater of all kinds....

Ive heard that the White Dwarfs live longer than the scarlets thats why I asked, never really heard much about them either until I searched around...Is one better for hair algae, cyano etc.. than others or are they all the same in that aspect ...(just curious)...

I have had scarlets and blue legs and neither was interested in hair algae nor cyano (Cyano is a bacteria, and rarely a treat for anything)

I won't put anymore hermits in my tank, only snails.

My personal experiences tell me that blue ones are evil even if you have extra shells for them. Red ones seems Ok as long as you get extra shells of various sizes for them. Sometimes the gardening section of HD has the shells.

If we are insisting on the need for these little weed whackers, then I would go with the scarlet. The blue ones are evil.
