The shock didn't kill your corals, but a light fixture is full of all sorts of things that inverts do not like like PCBs, tar, varnish, mercury and copper.
Depending on what type of light fixture it was.

But they said the light didn't break so how would mercury or anything else get into the water column. I still think it's just the electrical shock they took...

Besides what's in the bulb you have the things that are in the light fixture itself. That was submerged in the water and could leach things into the water.

There is alot inside of the fixtures....solder flux,depending on ballast type could be tar , varnish...not to mention the copper wires ...

Things are looking better, it looks like all my corals are coming back to life but very slow, it?s going to take some time it looks like, I think I?ll do another water change this Sunday, I did one last Sunday, so you think that will be a good idea or too close to each other????

Glad to hear things are getting better. The water change should be fine. I try to do weekly water changes too. But perhaps not as much as you are changing.

so, if your tank suffered an electrical shock for the same amount of time mine did, and your corals are coming back to life it means I have hope that my tank is going to be fine also :wink1:

how many volts ? the cable inside my tank was 24v 3A
so I think all is going to come back to normal

it was a coralife refugim light with 2 compact florescent lights

if the transformer is built into the light then it was 110-120 volts ac.

Hence the old adage in the hobby, good things take time and bad things happen fast! You're living proof of that. Good luck with the recovery. Stay persistent and you'll overcome.
