the specs on them say 1 will do a 24x24 i believe ,but in personal experience for a sps dominant tank i dont think its enough,but if it was my tank i would do 8,but then again im a bit nuts also!

Yes I'm thinking about it my electric bill is an average of 600 a month for my house big part is the tank. I built a custom chiller to sit outside where I thought would save money and it did not do much. Have three 400 watt halides and 4 T 5s they throw a lot of heat and after all its the new future on lighting

i wish i could post pix, under leds its tough till i get it down.. Tusi i went to Toms house today to look at his tank.. His sps is insane and he runs ai leds... i think you would be really impressed w the colors.... i was blown away..

Meant to ask you using a doser or reactor ?

I have a calcium reactor kalkwasser reactor and dose strontium, magnesium and trace elements normally I use magnesium pellets in the reactor but when I changed the media I had none so ill wait till next time

Ok cool ,I'm still using a doser becoming a pain the alk consumption is like 270ml a day..

That's crazy get yourself a reactor and u save money. U fill it up once a year. The only think got to keep an eye on it at the beginning till you see the consumption and concentration

kres thats strange that you dose 270.. im at 200 alk (home made solution) a day on about 550 true gallons of water.. my alk is finally 8.5 now

I'm using the bulk reef supply soda ash,so maybe that's a weaker solution don't know?
