very nice guys! I also had many corals that outgrew salt buckets...many as they grew the underneath died off so only the tops and sides looked nice and were fragged down including my ORA green BN...I have many corals in the 4-8" range, but here are a few of the larger ones..
Tusi here is my green table, a different spieces from yours, grown from a frag I got many years ago from Petswarehouse when they only had their Copiague store..
for all you ole skoolers who remember Les's place out in Bayshore this blue tip I got as a frag from him about ten years ago and I think almost everyone I know has a piece from me...LOL
this guy is a third generation in my tank and well over ten years old...took a frag from the mother colonies which were traded or sold off and regrown..
my 15yo froggie which has been fragged many times over the years and it's younger cousin the golden torch which is about 5
the majority of my corals have been grown from frags, but there are some I bought as colonies...those just don't seem to be as hardy...
Thx Chris your tank looks amazing dont understand what happened how it did not get chosen, but I'm sure it was some sort of a mistake cause I think it looks nicer than mine
Mike your colonies are huge and beautifull as the whole tank. We have to get together one day so we can refrag some of them. That table looks different than mine. I still don't know what mine is and it relate to a lot of deep water acros. I had picked it from Greenwich aquaria 3 yrs ago it was laying in the sand with no color and the guy gave it to me free and said give it a lot of light and it will turn green. I showed him a picture not long ago he did not want to believe it. I do agree with u buying colonies is not worth it. The one coral that I like a is the hychiantes and they always die like the red planet.
Do you mean the ORA Hyacinth BN? That grew like a weed for me. In three years from a frag to larger than a bucket. I had to break it apart to fit in an IO bucket to sell it.
My Red Planet took months to start growing and placed about half way down it had a nice mixture of a green base with red tips, but I almost lost it during my battle with AEFWs a few months back...I was able to save a 2" frag of it so hopefully it makes a comeback....you can see the damage they did on my pic of the blue tip stag( A. microphythalma)...sorry enough typing we need more pics!
