I can change the spectrum of my LEDs 500 times a day so what? If an led burns out or breaks just need to replace the 1 led. And whenever a new more advanced type of LEDs come out all I have to do is switch out the led board and not the entire unit. Which YOU have to buy if you want an upgrade. Not mention the never ending bulbs change and ridiculous heat causing Bill to go up and Need to buy a chiller. So in reality LEDs and cheaper also.

And stores that still have t5 just don't have the $$ to pay $800 per led all at once. But when they do I bet they will switch to leds. Lights r not the only reason for different colors of corals.

Lol okie dokie. Try taking apart a radion or ai sol or any other fixture that is not DIY to change out a single led.

You're reasoning is off the wall.

Also I'm getting sick of hearing you cheap people ***** about the cost of runnin lighting. Yes you have to replace bulbs BUT there have not been any LEDs out he to test the 25-50,000 hour life. Also LEDs DO IN FACT lose intensity as they age FACT- They don't stay perfect for 50,000 hours and then one day just stop working. so where are the results posted ever 6 months until they get to the point that you should replace them? They're not available.

At least you know every 6-9 months change your bulbs in halides and t5's. You can get them cheap enough and you don't have to replace 50 of them.

I use metal halides and don't need a chiller, sump is under tank, tank goes up about 2-3 degrees max on the hottest days
