To a point maybe. I do component level
soldering often even on boards that were previously wave soldered. It's not hard just takes patience. As far as replacing components the major manufacturers are making the units in modular form more and more. Repairs are now a matter of getting a replacement and swapping it out. Usually involving a few screws and
Or plugs. Before you said you couldn't change spectrum. Big difference between can't and not to a certain extant. Go over enough spectral plots and you'll see LEDs are a lot closer than you assume them to be. Not exact but in most cases very very close. The use of T5's w LEDs gives the best of both worlds.
I apologize to the MR community for converting him to partial LEDs.
I have a whole book on PS but come on that wouldn't be fair. NOONE on MR uses that lol.
I've seen enough of them to know that here are few enough LEDs of the uv, green and cyan diodes that there are limitations still. I know they're getting better but if heat isn't an issue with how a setup is I'd still rather halides and t5's with led moonlights.
Just my preference. I've installed enough acans and what not to see the different models up close. I like a lot of things about the LEDs but my preference is not them.
