So stores don't buy frags of fancy sps and grow them out w LEDS! then sell u frags from that at a sick profit? Only thing t5 HAD going for it was no shadows for sps. Which is easily resolved w supplemental LEDs at 45 degree angles in front and /or back of tank. This has been proven thousands of times already.

The use of T5 to supplement LEDs is perhaps the best of both worlds. Stand on your head, do a dance whatever but reds and pinks are weak under LEDs unless one heavily doses.
The use I T5's helps round out the spectrum of the LEDs while allowing for all
The other benefits.

Actually what T5's had AND have going for it is you can choose your spectrum and always have the freedom to change it at anytime. They also have the fact that if a ballast goes you can get a new ballast only. Of a driver for a LED unit blows good bye unit- either to get fixed under warranty or you get to buy a whole new 700 dollar sometimes unit.

Nothing you've said has been proven thousands of times. How many stores did you help set up or even work at to get your reasoning? The prettiest tanks I've serviced had t5 or metal halide with t5 actinic and at LED's used at most for moonlighting or accent lighting to make the corals fluoresce during the actinic portion of the lighting cycle.
