I have 4 bulb T-5 fixture.
My lighting schedule is a little ...err...shall we say...whacky.

a) (1) Aquablue Plus and (1) Midday bulb set to go on at 3pm-11pm
b) Moonlights on from 11pm-3pm
c) (1) True Actinic and (1) Aquablue Plus switch on whenever I feel like it. Usually when I wake up, which depends on the day of the week and what I did the night before. It's plugged into a normal outlet.

Basically my corals and fish will always get two bulb's worth of lighting for 8 hrs. Some days they will get the full 4 bulbs for 4 hrs, 6 hrs, or 8 hrs. In addition, they might get a total of 10 or 12 hrs total of lighting from one or the other set of two bulbs. The moonlight always remain consistent though. I'm playing around with this lighting scheme because I feel like in nature things aren't always the consistent. There are be cloudy days, there will be sunny days. I've found my corals to become extra hardy once they've become accostumed to my whacky lighting schedule. They've also keep out their feeding tenticles all day long. I don't keep SPS, so can't attest to that. But softies and LPS are happy.

My fish and corals live as crazy as I do. :D

8:15am - 8:15pm (two 175w 10k MH)
8:15am - 8:15pm (two 39w actinics needed to balance out the ugly yellow color of the 10k bulbs)

My tank gets natural light so I try to stick to a daylight schedule.
Tanks is 30" tall but anything light hungry is near the top of the rock work.

155 BF mixed reef:
2 VHO 160 watt Super Actinics 10 AM - 11 PM (I use to run 1 super and 1 white actinic) I love the colors popping on the corals, but not the dark look of the tank. Have thought of the T5, but they don't come in 72".
3 Reflux 175 watt 10 K MH 5 PM - 10 PM (Not to happy with these)
