I've got a condy anemone in my tank.
It's been in there for about 1.5 months. Doing ok for the first month. About two weeks ago it started moving (very slowly...3 inches in two weeks) and hasn't looked as full as it was the first month.

I added a powerhead today and around the same time it started forming a pouch of its insides.

There's also some threadlike stuff on the base, similar in color to the anemone (threads are pinkish, anemone base is orange). Hopefully not filaments of the anemone.

Don't know the water params. I usually just get it checked at the LFS.

Lights are not sufficient for the anemone. Have new ones coming this week.
Tank is a nano. Grow out tank and will be upgraded soon.

I just got four frags of Zoas and a frag of GSP earlier this week.
GSP was open nicely (until I stuck my hand in the tank to put in the powerhead)
Zoas are mostly closed but the fire and ice (happen to be closest to anemone) are open.

Last water change was yesterday.
Don't have a test kit. Like I said I usually go to the LFS. But its Sunday evening now.

Just went back up to the tank. Anemone looks the same but the four zoa frags are all opened up real nice and the GSP is in the process of opening.

I was under the impression the anemone liked more flow. Part of the reason I got the powerhead. Should I turn the powerhead off?

I actually did a pretty big water change yesterday when I added the Zoas. about 30-40%
Also suctioned out some of the waste stuck under rocks.
The powerhead did kick up a whole bunch of waste from under the rocks. But its all been filtered out or settled by now.

very little you can do ! sadly just need to cross your fingers to see if once lights are off if it makes !just leave him alone ! just not too much flow so it does;t get tossed around! and stressed out more

I have two baby occ. clowns and a small royal gramma.
Also two red leg hermits and two blue leg hermits.
It might have been the red leg hermits, they're the larger ones. But they were in the tank from the beginning and have been there from before the anemone and I haven't had a problem yet.

So the anemone is looking better.
It may have just ben expelling waste.

I'm still quite worried about that pinkish thread-like filament coming out from the base.

There is another long thread-like filament on the left side of the base of the anemone. But this one is whitish.

In the top down and frontal picture you can see a brownish threadlike material in the tentacles. This seems to be waste.

5 months. Lighting is LED. Insufficient for the nem.

New lighting coming Tuesday.

What kind of LED lighting? Many types of LED's are fine for anemones.
What is the new lighting?

I suggest you leave the power-head out as that is likely what upset him to start with. Did you have any PH in there prior to adding this new one? Is this new one too strong for the tank?

Any PH in a tank with an anemone should have a foam cover on it in the event they wander around.

It's a 3W led on the Fluval edge. I'm adding an 8W fixture. And maybe some ecoxotic strips down the line.

The powerhead is a Koralia nano 240. It does seem rather strong but it seems the most common powerhead on this tank and I've seen many threads with Fluval edge 6s and this power head.

All I had before was the aquaclear 20 HOB. Running liverock and purigen.
I created a plastic deflector so the flow actually goes upward and agitates the surface.
